Appir ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our app.

During onboarding:

We collect the following personal data during the onboarding process:

  • Age

  • Gender preference for clothing (Male, Female, Both)

  • Perceived body type

  • Location sharing (if accepted)

  • Fashion purchasing motivations (Price, Brand, Sustainability, Delivery, Reviews, Trends)

  • Ocassion preferences through swipe-based outfit selection (e.g., Day at the Office, Weekend with Friends)

  • Login credentials from Google or Apple (name and email address, if available)

During app usage:

During use of the app we track the following data points:

  • User-Item interactions

  • App navigation patterns and screen usage to optimize the app experience.

  • Location data (if allowed) for tailored recommendations and marketing insights.

  • General usage data for analytics and customer journey optimization.

02. How We Use Your Data

 

The collected data will be used to:

  • Personalize your experience with tailored clothing suggestions.

  • Train our AI recommender engine using anonymized data.

  • Conduct analytics to optimize vendor offerings and app performance.

  • Enhance app design and customer journey through behavioral insights.

Future Use:

In the future we plan to introduce personalized ads within the app based on usage data, similar to the data used to train our recommender engine, to find suitable ads for your app usage and learned style. All data is anonymized, with no references to personal information, only the id given upon user creation.

03. Data Sharing

 

We do not sell or share individual user data with third parties. However, at a later stage, we will use aggregated and anonymized data for specific purposes.

  • Vendor Insights Dashboards: Vendors may receive aggregated demographic insights, such as age distributions, regional preferences, and demand trends. This data is fully anonymized and does not identify individual users.

  • Targeted Advertising: Ads within the app are based on anonymized user profiles to ensure relevant recommendations.

These features are planned for future implementation. Users will be notified prior to their introduction.

04. Data Storage and Security

 

Your data is stored in a secure database with the following safeguards:

  • IP whitelisting restricts access to the database.

  • Connection code is secured against SQL injection attacks.

  • Data transfers to the AI model are only embeddings, ensuring no direct relationship to personal data.

  • SSL certificates are in place to secure data transmission and prevent leakage.

05. Data Retention

 

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data, including identifiable information such as your name and contact details, will be permanently removed. Some onboarding preferences (e.g., anonymized demographic insights and style preferences) will remain but will be fully anonymized. These remaining data points will only be used for training our recommendation models in an anonymized manner, ensuring they cannot be traced back to you.

06. Third-Party Links

 

When you click the "Shop Now" button, you are redirected to the vendor's website. Their privacy policies govern your experience on their platform. We recommend reviewing their policies before proceeding.

07. User Rights

As a user, you are allowed to:

  • Redo Onboarding: Reset your preferences and start fresh.

  • Account Deletion: Delete your account directly through the app by using the "Delete Account" button in the app settings. Upon deletion, all personal data, including name and contact details, will be permanently removed. Some onboarding preferences will remain but will be anonymized and used solely to train our models without any link to your identity.

Opt-Out Policy:​

We have minimized data collection to the minimum necessary to allow for a customized customer journey. For this reason, opting out of data collection for training the algorithm is not possible, as it is integral to delivering our personalized experience. However, users can manage their preferences for cookies and tracking technologies through the app settings.

08. Children’s Privacy

The app is intended for users aged 18 and above. We cannot verify user age but rely on standard online purchase restrictions to prevent underage transactions.

09. Cookies and Tracking

We use tracking to:

  • Avoid re-targeting existing users with app download ads.

  • Promote user retention through targeted campaigns.

10. Compliance

We adhere to GDPR regulations and respect your data rights.

Data Access and Export:
While export and reporting tools are not yet implemented, we will build these features as user demand increases.
